Swivel plate assembly instructions

Swivel plates are used in a wide range of applications such as furniture, stools, armchairs, exhibition stands and more. In the following article we list assembly instructions how to mount the mechanism with 2 wooden surfaces.

Assembly:
Step 1:
- Place the mechanism on the exact desired position on the bottom board. With a maker or pencil mark the positions of the holes to be opened with the drill.
- Optionally, mark the outline of the mechanism on the board with a pencil for better alignment.
Step 2:
- With the appropriate drill, make the holes in the positions you have pre-marked and at the depth you have calculated based on the screw length. Pre-drilling is always required to prevent board crack but also to help screw much easier ensuring the screws are in a straight path. We follow the same procedure for the upper board too.
Step 3:
- After we have made the holes, screw the mechanism on the bottom board.
Step 4:
- In order to be able to screw the upper board, we need to drill a hole on the bottom board, large enough to have space to fit through the screws.
Step 5:
- Since we have opened the hole and we have already pre-drilled the holes for the screws of the upper board, we place the upper surface on the desired position on the mechanism and screw the 4 screws, one by one from the bottom of the wood.
Note:
It is possible to assemble the mechanism with another way, as long as your design allows it. You can first screw the upper part of the mechanism to the upper board and then to mount it to the bottom board. Instead of wood screws, you can use bolt screws (we have placed them in the mechanism before screwing the upper surface) and tighten with nuts from the bottom of the board.
